Rules
There
was an Old Man in a tree,
Who was horribly bored by a bee:
When they said, " Does it buzz?"
He replied, " Yes it does!
It's a regular brute of a bee!"
There
was an Old Man from Dumbree
Who taught little owls to drink tea;
For he said, " To eat mice
Is not proper or nice,"
That amiable man from Dumbree.
These are examples of a Limerick.
The aim of the game is to create your own
Limerick, based on a first line, given to
you by the host. The entries are then voted
on by the players, and points are tally'd
up, according to how many votes you get.
1)
To qualify your limericks MUST follow the
standard limerick format of 5 short lines.
Lines A, B and E should rhyme and lines C
and D should rhyme.
2)
Your limerick must begin with the line specified
by the host at the start of each round. We
will play 5 rounds.
3)
You will be given 5 minutes in which to submit
your entry. Only your last entry will be valid.
4)
Should your entry not comply it will be disqualified.
Tips
You dont have
to be good at poetry! Just be wild, wacky
and random if needbe... as long as it follows
the rhythm, and the corresponding lines rhyme,
then your Limerick will be a good one.
